That is a one word summary of last nights Cub's game. I was moderately disinterested and the Cubs seemed generally disinterested. Let's try to remember that this is a 162 game season and these are the dog days. Most of these guys just had 4 days off and it looked like they had a difficult time getting back into game mode. That being said, there is no excuse for yesterday's lackluster effort. Lou said all the right things but you know he said something to the team after the game. Something like, "hey, those assholes from St. Louis and Milwaukee are giving it their all...how about we don't sleep walk through the first week back."
It would have definitely helped to have Z on the mound for the first game. Lou is looking at the big pitch though. We won't see Z or Dempster here in AZ because Lou is setting things up so that Marquis doesn't pitch against the Brewers. SMART SMART SMARRRT.
The bottom line is there are a ton of game to play and we are about to get Soriano back. Now let's hope the guys come out the next 5 days and hand a couple of inferior teams their asses.
